About the role
The Environmental Services Technician at Sanford Health is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas. The position involves tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, and using various cleaning tools.
Responsibilities
- Emptying waste baskets
- Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors
- Using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
- Wearing proper protective equipment following guidelines
- Keeping storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
- Assisting in laundry areas as needed
- Using technology appropriately when needed
- Performing physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials
- Lifting and/or moving up to 40-50lbs and pushing/pulling up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps
- Standing for the majority of the shift
- Being available for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays based on patient/resident needs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to use computer
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred
Qualifications

Pay
$15.00 - $22.50 per hour
Schedule
Full time, 40.00 weekly hours, 8 Hours - Day Shifts, varying work hours based on patient/resident needs.
