The Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a versatile multi-building facility serving the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events, including athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, and exhibits. The Complex also accommodates public and private gatherings such as conventions, convocations, trade shows, and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy.
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex includes the 22,000-seat First Horizon Coliseum, renowned for hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships and featuring a concert history with legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, alongside today’s biggest artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift. Other notable venues include the 167,000-square-foot Special Events Center, White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, the Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and the 300-seat Odeon Theatre. The Complex annually hosts over 1,100 events, earning worldwide acclaim among promoters, producers, event planners, and patrons.
Responsibilities
- Mix and prepare cleaning products to clean the Coliseum interior and exterior, which may also include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and waxing floors.
- Ensures a safe environment for patrons by removing liquids and debris from walkways through the building during events.
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms.
- Wash windows, mirrors, walls, and countertops.
- Remove and dispose of debris from parking lots, walkways, and Coliseum facilities and empty waste receptacles.
- Perform additional staff functions for events.
- Exercise resource stewardship and report known or expected irregularities to the immediate supervisor to ensure compliance.
- Follow OSHA and in-house safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
- One to two years of related working knowledge of building cleaning practices, methods, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to perform routine and repetitive custodial tasks without immediate supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to walk/stand the entire shift and bend/stoop as needed.
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Required to successfully complete on-site CPR and bloodborne pathogen training.
