About the role

Steinhafels is looking for a first-shift, full-time Housekeeping Associate to assist with cleaning our stores. The store housekeeper maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees, focusing on cleaning and janitorial needs throughout the store, including restrooms, kitchen, and hospitality areas. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning duties throughout the store, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain a clean and presentable environment.
  • Ensure restrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly, restock supplies, and maintain a hygienic and pleasant experience for customers.
  • Clean and maintain break rooms and hospitality spaces, ensuring these areas are tidy, sanitized, and properly stocked.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in a safe, sanitary manner, keeping all trash areas neat and organized.
  • Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, and promptly cleaning spills or debris to prevent hazards.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies are low or need replenishing.
  • Participate in special cleaning projects, including seasonal deep cleaning, floor waxing, or cleaning windows and high-traffic areas.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive shopping environment by ensuring the store is clean and inviting for customers.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while using cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Must be available to work weekends as part of the regular schedule to ensure the store remains clean during high-traffic periods.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team while completing tasks according to company procedures.
  • Understanding of proper cleaning techniques and the appropriate use of cleaning products for different surfaces.
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality, maintaining productivity during shifts.
  • Physical stamina: frequent bending, kneeling, and walking (approximately 80% of the time) with the ability to perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Schedule

Sunday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (off Tuesday/Thursday).
