About the Role
Sofidel America of Inola is seeking a local candidate for a long-term Plant Housekeeper position in a stable manufacturing environment. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility that supports production operations, employee safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the manufacturing facility, warehouse, production areas, and surrounding work areas.
- Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP requirements, and company sanitation standards.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of industrial sweepers and other cleaning equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Safely operate industrial sweepers, pallet jacks, balers, and other housekeeping equipment.
- Clean and maintain sweepers and other equipment after each use.
- Remove paper waste, scrap material, debris, and recyclable materials from production and warehouse areas.
- Operate small balers and assist with recycling and waste management activities.
- Maintain facility entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other designated outdoor areas.
- Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and safety hazards to supervision.
- Assist production and warehouse operations as needed to support workflow, quality standards, and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and operating procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial housekeeping, manufacturing, warehouse, janitorial, or facility maintenance preferred.
- Experience operating industrial cleaning and material-handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operating instructions, work orders, and quality documentation.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, stand, and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Ability to work around paper dust, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and elevated noise levels.
- Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, reflective vests, and hairnets.
