About the role
As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized to protect everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing
- Use specialized equipment and techniques to sanitize the facility
- Wash, scrub, dust, polish, vacuum, mop, and disinfect patient rooms, treatment/exam rooms, bathrooms, staff areas, offices, corridors, utility rooms, tiles, windows, blinds, furniture, mirrors, fixtures, walls, doors, refrigerators, etc.
- Scrub sinks and showers
- Empty wastepaper baskets and replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap
- Properly handle chemicals per MSDS and use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Upon patient dismissal, strip the room, properly dispose of linen and trash, clean and disinfect bed, frame, mattress, and pillow, and remake the bed following Policies and Procedures for discharge units
- Maintain supplies for the area, keeping carts properly stocked and neat, and organize areas
- Record terminal cleaning of dismissals on charts at the Nurses’ station
- Report light bulbs that need replacing, broken or malfunctioning equipment, furniture, or other items requiring repair
- Properly label and remove infectious waste bags and containers
- Train employees upon request from the Department Head and keep them apprised of trainee progress
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Healthcare experience (preferred)
- Thorough and committed to safety

Pay
$19.25 - $24.94 per hour
