Housekeeper, Full Time, Day Shift

About the role

The Housekeeper cleans and services all areas of the hospital and all buildings owned by the hospital. They arrange furniture in an organized and orderly fashion, keep all equipment and storage areas clean and organized, and manage waste disposal. This role has no access to patient health information but may have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service all hospital areas, including furniture, windows, restrooms, walls, and floors
• Arrange furniture in an organized and orderly fashion
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and storage areas
• Dispose of waste and replenish paper supplies and waste can liners
• Handle hazardous chemicals correctly
• Clean blood and body fluids
• Use cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, dust mops, and damp mops

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral directions
• Cleaning experience is desirable but not essential (on-the-job training provided)
• Knowledge of how to use cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaner)
• Ability to clean blood and body fluids
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for the position
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods of time

Schedule

Days, 8:00 AM start time, alternating weekends
