Job Summary

Unity Health is seeking candidates for the position of Housekeeper I and Housekeeper II. This is a safety-sensitive position.

About the Role

This role involves performing indirect patient care tasks such as cleaning occupied and unoccupied patient areas, ensuring a hygienically clean environment, and maintaining an environment free of hazards.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and disinfection tasks in patient areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient and non-patient areas.
• Handle waste according to proper policy and procedures.
• Request and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Understand and navigate the physical layout of hospital departments.
• Work second shift, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, every other weekend, 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to read and write.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Good physical and emotional well-being.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable with hospital department layouts.
• Willingness to follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently.
• Ability to handle waste and contaminated linens according to policies.
• Ability to maintain equipment in good working order.

Skills

• Understanding of infection control policies.
• Physical stamina for cleaning tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
