Housekeeper
About the role
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within assigned facilities. This position performs routine and detailed cleaning tasks to ensure safe, welcoming spaces for occupants, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks in assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and floor care
- Conduct high dusting and detailed cleaning of surfaces, fixtures, and common areas
- Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste materials
- Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and safety protocols
- Safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment according to training and guidelines
- Maintain organized and properly stocked cleaning supply and equipment storage areas
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning needs or concerns
- Support a safe and professional work environment at all times
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Ability to operate standard custodial cleaning equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience, preferably in a medical or professional setting
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold
- Physical stamina to perform routine and strenuous cleaning tasks

Hours will vary: On-Call
Pay
Salary Range: $19.50/hr.
