Housekeeper

About the role

Housekeepers at Gateway Convention Center are responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the center's operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors.
• Vacuum and steam-clean carpets.
• Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.
• Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants daily.
• Operate an assortment of equipment including buffers, rider sweepers/scrubbers, walk behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, and others as needed.
• Identify and report possible repairs.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to walk, run, stand, sit, and complete a variety of motor skills.
• Ability to walk and/or stand on concrete for much of your shift.
• Ability to bend to the floor and reach overhead.
• Ability to lift and carry 30-70 pounds regularly to chest height.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• Productive with limited supervision.
• Work staggered shift assignments including evenings and weekends.
