About the Role
The House Supervisor coordinates and organizes personnel and other resources to meet the patient care functions of the organization in a cost-effective manner. Collaborates to provide crisis management, interpret policy and procedure, and assure timely and effective communication and collaboration between individuals and departments. The House Supervisor represents the organizational leadership across all venues on a 24-hour basis and collaborates to make decisions and acts on behalf of the Nursing Leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Assures the daily personnel, equipment, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high-quality patient and family care.
- Provides resources for clinical and support staff in decision-making that facilitates safe, high-quality patient care.
- Coordinates the response to significant, planned or unplanned events that threaten the institution's people, structures, ability to operate, assets, and/or reputation.
- Role models effective two-way communication and problem-solving at the organizational level.
- Handles recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of centralized staffing nursing staff.
- Ensures nursing staff compliance with:
- Professional development
- Adherence to nursing standards of practice
- Regulatory standards
- ANA Code of Ethics
- Peer reviews
- Organizational and unit policies
- Mandatory education
- Infection control practice
- Scheduling processes and procedures
- I CARE standards of behavior
- Maintains a healthy work environment utilizing the principles of “just culture” which neither holds the nurse accountable for system failures nor tolerates reckless behavior.
- Performs patient and employee rounding.
- Requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Corporate Services, ICARE standards, adherence to the Code of Conduct, organization policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Administration, and Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Requirements
- Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years related nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year progressive nurse leadership experience
Qualifications
- Possesses current state RN license
- Maintains current BLS
- National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible)
- ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
