House Supervisor - Day Shift

About the role

Nexus Children's Hospital – The Woodlands seeks a House Supervisor (RN) to lead and support clinical excellence in a specialized inpatient program for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and clinical leadership during assigned shifts.
  • Serve as the primary administrative resource for nursing staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and patient-centered care.
  • Cookpord patient admissions, transfers, staffing, and patient flow.
  • Respond to clinical emergencies and provide leadership during crisis situations.
  • Support and mentor nursing staff through coaching, clinical guidance, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments based on patient acuity and census.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote continuous clinical excellence.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with Nexus' mission and values.

Requirements

  • Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of three years of acute care, behavioral health, rehabilitation, or neurodevelopmental nursing experience.
  • Prior charge nurse, clinical leadership, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS Certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities.

Qualifications

  • Experience caring for patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Experience caring for patients with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).
  • Experience caring for patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
  • Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric populations.
  • Experience in medical-behavioral or rehabilitation settings.
