About the Role

As the House Supervisor at Good Samaritan Hospital, you will serve as a pivotal clinical leader, overseeing and coordinating comprehensive care delivery across all clinical areas during designated shifts. You will act as in-house administration for after-hours and weekends, assuming delegated nursing administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities include assisting directors, monitoring productivity, and serving as a crucial communication link. You will operationalize strategic initiatives, model ethical management, and support the hospital's mission by combining strong clinical expertise with exceptional administrative acumen.

In this role, you will assign day-to-day work activities, direct the functional and technical job performance of team members, and allocate staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and department requirements. You will collaborate with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met, coordinate and support patient activity, and ensure safe practices in all clinical areas during your designated shift. You will also oversee the placement of all admissions, facilitate unit triaging during peak census, and make critical decisions under pressure to foster high-quality patient care and organizational integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows practice in the state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • 3 to 5 years of clinical experience

Where You'll Work

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. The hospital features an advanced level trauma center with AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long-distance and local 911 service. Additional services include cardiac care (with open-heart surgery), a Level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, an advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at the free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

Pay

$40.72 - $59.05 per hour
