Job Summary

Epic Health Services is seeking a House Officer to join our Internal Medicine team. This role is specifically designed for medical school graduates holding a NYS Limited Permit who are working toward full licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, obtain detailed medical histories, and document clinical findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

  • Develop and implement diagnostic and therapeutic plans in close collaboration with the supervising attending physician.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounding.

  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.

  • Provide direct medical treatment and manage acute and chronic conditions as directed by the supervising physician.

  • Demonstrate consistent professional and high quality communication skills.

  • Prescribe medications in accordance with NYS Limited Permit regulations and facility protocols.

  • Perform clinical procedures within the scope of training and as authorized by the supervising physician.

  • Provide essential education and counseling to patients and families regarding disease management, treatment adherence, and preventative health.

  • Cook interdisciplinary collaboration with nursing, social work, and specialty consult services to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.

  • Maintain accurate, timely medical records and adhere to all legal, ethical, and Joint Commission standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD, DO, or international equivalent).

  • Licensure: Possession of, or immediate eligibility for, a New York State Limited Permit to practice medicine.

  • Examinations: Successful completion of USMLE or COMLEX steps required for NYS Limited Permit eligibility.

  • Clinical Skills: Strong foundational knowledge in Internal Medicine and a commitment to clinical excellence. Experience in inpatient management preferred.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a high-pressure environment.

  • Technology: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (Meditech preferred) and basic office software.
