GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The position is responsible for the operation of a residential home. The House Manager works with staff to provide care to individuals served and ensures efficient and cost-effective services.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION(S)
- Supervises the day-to-day operation of the home in compliance with regulations and Agency standards.
- Provides supervision and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities to promote growth.
- Supervises Lead Staff and Direct Support Professionals and ensures accountability.
- Collaborates with the Division Manager for disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, suspensions, and terminations.
- Maintains service and medication books, reports errors/omissions, and completes audit forms.
- Maintains professionalism and sets a positive example for staff.
- Coordinates and supports staff training, orientations, and ongoing development.
- Manages household finances, implements budgets, and ensures availability of supplies.
- Ensures accuracy and timely submission of incident reports, activity calendars, weight charts, fire drills, and other documents.
- Completes performance evaluations and participates in IP planning.
- Plans and carries out quality leisure activities.
- Maintains the home and vehicle for cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Takes necessary action in emergencies and reports incidents.
- Transports individuals to medical appointments, therapies, and activities.
- Communicates with families, external personnel, and delegating nurses.
- Monitors medication supplies, administration, reordering, and documentation.
- Ensures fire drills, water temperature checks, and safety committee reports are completed.
- Initiates and follows up on maintenance requests and reports vehicle problems.
- Maintains program files and attends house meetings.
- Uses technology for job duties and attends in-service training and staff meetings.
- Works cooperatively with others and assumes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities in a group residence and experience in a management or supervisory position.
- License: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Lifting Capacity: Ability to lift 50 pounds.
COMPENSATION
$52,000 annually
