About the Role
The Residential House Manager offers personalized, person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a group home setting. They provide strategic leadership, manage operations, and oversee the residential program. This position emphasizes maintaining high-quality, safe, and inclusive living spaces, promoting each resident's well-being and achievements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and advancing organizational goals through effective program development, staff supervision, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of maximum independence, responsibility and self-worth
- Integration of quality of life ideals into daily management and program development
- Preparation and implementation of program goals, individuals service plans, progress notes and treatment plans
- Nurturing a positive relationship with individuals, families, guardians and service providers
- Providing for appropriate healthcare, medical and dental needs and promoting healthy lifestyle choices
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a team of direct care staff
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WORK Inc.'s company policy and applicable laws
- Interview, hire and train employees
- Planning, assigning, training and directing work
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
- On call responsibilities including out of hours emergencies
Qualifications
- Fluent in ASL (American Sign Language)
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, or related Field or one plus years related experience and actively enrolled in a related degree program or minimum five years' experience
- Valid Massachusetts Driver's License and a safe driving record
- CPR/First Aid certification and safety care required (training provided)
- Proficiency with basic technology and electronic documentation systems
