Hourly Research Assistant (Work-Study)
About the role
The University of Utah College of Health and Department of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training is seeking individuals to support a study evaluating rehabilitation across aging populations. The primary responsibilities of the persons working in these positions are to enroll participants, track retention and compliance with follow-up assessments and perform data collection activities. They will interact with patients and with other research staff on the study team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Physical Therapist Researchers to coordinate, manage, and implement clinical research.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Work Environment
- Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
- Seldom: Infectious disease, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids).
Physical Requirements
- Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
- Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.
- Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Requirements
- Completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire required.
- Completion of CITI Human Subjects and Good Clinical Practice Training within one month of hire required.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and IRB regulations; an understanding of research procedures; and the ability to function independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software programs.
- Experience with RedCap.
- Previous research experience preferred.
- Able to communicate proficiently in English.

Qualifications
- EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
- Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
- Research Assistant, I: Requires little to no related experience.
- Research Assistant, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
- Research Assistant, III: Requires 3+ years of related experience.

Pay
$16 per hour, DOE.
