Hourly Project Assistant II

Hourly, grant funded position expected to last through 08/31/2026. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not available. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location and must be located in or willing to relocate to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts prior to hire. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

About the role

The Hourly Project Assistant II will provide support for healthcare facilities to improve reporting of involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations in New York State. The incumbent will assist with conducting outreach to these facilities to enable improved reporting procedures related to data quality, timeliness, and completeness. Positions with a designated work location in New York City, Nassau, Rockland, Suffolk, or Westchester Counties will receive a $4,000 annual downstate adjustment (pro-rated for part-time positions).

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach to healthcare facilities to improve reporting procedures for involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations.
• Work with facilities to enhance quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Analyze data to identify potential reporting problems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or Graduate Student enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field; OR
• Two years of experience with data analytics or computer programming in Python, R, or SAS.
• Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with data analysis using Microsoft Excel, SAS, Python, or R.
• Experience with SQL coding.
• Experience with relational databases.

Pay

Minimum: $22.00 - Maximum: $22.00 hourly.
