Hotside / Coldside Commercial & Residential Appliance Repair Field Service Technician

About the role

Mr. Appliance is seeking Hotside and/or Coldside Commercial & Residential Appliance Repair Field Service Technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, problem-solving, and improving the home life of families in the community. This role offers a collaborative, fun work environment with a focus on work-life balance and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair home appliances and commercial kitchen equipment, including:
  • Ice machines
  • Cooking equipment
  • Walk-in coolers/freezers
  • Stand-alone refrigerator coolers and/or freezers
  • Residential appliances such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, ranges, and microwaves
• Provide cost estimates for repairs.
• Effectively communicate with customers to ensure they understand the services needed.
• Order parts and ensure efficient use of company materials.
• Collect payment for work performed.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
• Commitment to quality work, ensuring repairs are done correctly the first time.
• Efficiency in managing time and completing repairs promptly.
• Punctuality and reliability, with a focus on meeting customer expectations.
• Attention to detail, including maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle and accurately completing customer information and reports.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training to stay updated on new appliances and features.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• EPA Type 1 or Universal CFC Certification required.
• Previous experience of one year or more in appliance repair is a plus.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience in appliance repair. Technicians are typically paid on a daily guarantee initially, transitioning to commission-based pay. Bonuses and commissions are available, with top technicians earning well over $100,000 annually.
