Key Responsibilities
- Patrol and monitor all areas of the hotel, including entrances, guest floors, parking areas, and back-of-house.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems for unusual activity.
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and guest or employee reports of suspicious behavior.
- Aid in emergency situations, including evacuations, medical incidents, and fire alarms.
- Document all security-related activities, incidents, and irregularities in daily reports.
- Enforce hotel policies and procedures, including access control and loss prevention measures.
- Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
- Provide courteous assistance to guests and staff while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Conduct safety inspections and report hazards or maintenance needs.
- Assist with crowd control and security during special events or high-occupancy periods.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred.
- A valid security license (if required by Louisiana state law) is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong observational and communication skills are essential.
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure is crucial.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies in all areas of the property.
