About the role
Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering (HSE) team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join its team as a Senior Project Engineer to support our HSE Geared Turbofan (GTF) team. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for part-level ownership, task planning, and execution to ensure the IPT achieves goals for the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). The IPT has responsibility for the entire life cycle of the part and as such the Senior Project Engineer will be engaged in activities ranging from validation testing to Engineering Changes, from production delivery support to field support and investigations.
This is an onsite role located at our East Hartford, CT facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide project management to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) that includes design, structural, durability, aero, materials, and manufacturing engineers.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for the IPT in collaboration with the CIPT (Component Integration Product Team).
- Be accountable to the CIPT for part level project management, including budget and schedule management, risk management, and execution to program requirements.
- Track project progress and communicate status and forecasts related to schedule, budget, and technical requirements to the CIPT and management as appropriate.
- Facilitate project tasks with various functional organizations across the enterprise (such as procurement, manufacturing, validation, etc.) to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
- Manage hardware and validation related activities for the IPT, including working with support organization on the execution of hardware delivery and appropriate planning / execution of any required validation / testing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree.
- This job requires a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, or individual granted refugee or asylee status in the U.S.).
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and risk management skills.
- Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- Experience and understanding of project management and planning, including budget / schedule management, including toolsets (e.g., Agile, SAP, Primavera, and/or MS Project).
- Hot section gas turbine component and/or module level experience.
- Experience executing Engineering Changes through the Product Change and Incorporation Review process (PCIR).
- Experience with Smartsheets, Jira, and/or Confluence.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
