About the role

The Host at The St. Paul Grill is responsible for creating memorable guest experiences with pride, passion, and heart, ensuring exceptional service in a downtown St. Paul restaurant. This is a union position with associated dues and benefits as per the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Professionally answer all incoming phone calls and take reservations using standardized phone etiquette and dialogue.
• Provide positive guest recognition and relations through personal performance and attention to guest history, including familiarizing yourself with regular patrons and VIP guests.
• Greet guests in a timely and professional manner and escort them to tables.
• Perform reservation confirmations.
• Monitor the flow of the restaurant, including table turnover, guest arrival, guest departure, and the overall pace of the restaurant.
