About the Role
Pier Sixty-Six Resort, South Florida’s beacon of hospitality, is seeking a well-rounded and seasoned Sotogrande Hostess/Host to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests and outside visitors, you will provide a warm welcome and ensure their dining experience starts positively. This role is part of a diverse food and beverage offering within our Mediterranean and Latin concept, located in the newly renovated marina area. The restaurant will operate in a high-volume, dynamic environment, requiring a passion for personalized service and guest engagement.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Assist in seating Members and guests according to seating chart or guest preferences.
- Manage waitlist during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates.
- Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and dining area.
- Manage guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate with peers, management, and front-of-house employees.
- Practice effective listening and seek to understand guest needs.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the immediate work area and general property.
- Adhere to proper grooming, dress, and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policy.
- Be courteous to all guests and coworkers.
- Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at the outlet.
Qualifications
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual.
- Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to implement and uphold service standards.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
- Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort.
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Enthusiastic with knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers.
Experience, Education, & Licensure
- High School Diploma or GED recommended.
- Some College experience or Degree recommended.
- Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire.
- Must have a current Food Handlers card.
- Previous bartending experience in a professional setting is preferred.
