Schedule

Hours may vary based on occupancy:

• AM: 6:00 AM - 1:00 PM
• PM: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement, Core Values, and culture pillars.
• Greet guests as they approach the podium and make them feel welcome in the dining room.
• Seat guests as quickly as possible or, if a table is not immediately available, accurately inform guests of the wait time.
• Maintain an up-to-date seating chart and seat guests in a proper flow to avoid overcrowding sections.
• Keep menus clean and presentable; discard worn or tattered menus.
• Maintain knowledge of all buffet sections.
• Report guest complaints or issues immediately to the Service Manager or Unit Manager; respond professionally and sincerely.
• Complete opening and closing side duties according to dining room standards.
• Maintain a seating log to ensure accurate cover counts for each seating period.
• Assist buffet servers as needed to clear and set tables.
• Learn and follow Xanterra’s phone etiquette policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Must be willing to obtain Food Handlers Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a guest-facing position, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

• Constantly standing, walking, twisting, using eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, bending, and stooping.
• Frequently carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Occasionally carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking.
• Required to stand and walk for long periods on cement floors and occasionally on uneven surfaces.
