Host - Restaurant

About the Role

The Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn, a member of Genesis Hospitality, is seeking experienced and team-oriented candidates for a Full-Time Host position. We are looking for outgoing, energetic individuals to greet and seat our guests. An ideal candidate will be a team player willing to work a flexible schedule, including daytime, nighttime, and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the venue
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
• Manage reservations
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
• Maintain a clean reception area
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
• Greet customers upon their departure
• Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)
• Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
• Assist wait staff as needed

• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Dependable and reliable
• Outstanding people skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced work environment
• Strong verbal and written skills

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand and walk
• Moderate physical efforts: standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, pushing, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and focus

Working Conditions

• Kitchen environment with mild to moderate noise levels
• Exposure to noise, heat, changes in temperature, kitchen elements, odors, and moisture
