Position Purpose
The Host/Hostess provides personalized meal service to hospital patients for the hospital’s Food & Nutrition Patients Department. As a “Host/Hostess” You Will Provide personalized meal service to hospital patients. Meal service includes but is not limited to: Assisting patients with meal selection, serving meals to patients, clearing soiled and used trays from patients.
Responsibilities
- Stocking nursing unit pantries with supplies
- Taking meal carts to and from the patient floors
- Breaking down meal carts and various other side work duties assigned by management during shifts
- Serving cafeteria customers in a friendly and courteous manner
- Stocking various areas in the cafeteria and general sanitation
- Aiding other cafeteria and patient service staff as needed
- Recording safe food and refrigeration temperatures
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED required
- Prior Healthcare experience a plus
- Able to follow oral and written instructions
- Customer service oriented
- Able to effectively communicate with customers, clients and management
- Able to do basic math
- Able to work with minimal supervision and alone
- Able to interact with kitchen and supervisory staff
