Responsibilities
- Answers the phone at the hostess stand, transfers calls, takes reservations, receives and delivers messages to management.
- Able to answer questions concerning menus, special events, banquets, and other guest amenities.
- Organizes menus for each shift and ensures menus are clean, current and of sufficient par.
- Distribute copies of special menu items to wait staff.
- Greets guests in an upbeat, gracious and polite fashion. Adhere to the "ten foot rule" (acknowledge any member or guest within ten feet with an appropriate greeting).
- Distributes menus and wine lists to the guests and issues checks for food and beverage to each waiter.
- Keeps an accurate count of customers seated and distributed to each server, by properly maintaining reservation sheets and seating charts.
- Communicates special needs, VIPs, and special events to the servers to "exceed expectations."
- Maintains correct appearance of hostess stand area, organized and clean.
- Distributes menus and wine lists to the guests and issues checks for food and beverage to each waiter.
- Keeps an accurate count of customers seated and distributed to each server, by properly maintaining reservation sheets and seating charts.
