Duties and Responsibilities
- Check in all employees and highlight on the Open Table system.
- Answer the phone, take reservations, and take takeout orders.
- Ensure menus are clean and organized.
- Greet, check in, and seat guests.
- Print any special chits off Open Table with special instructions and hand off to the server upon their checking in.
- Review all Open Table reservations and map out the plan for the shift.
- Utilize Open Table to capture important information about guests.
- Work with the manager on the floor to ensure proper wait times.
- Ensure restrooms and the host stand are clean, stocked, and organized.
- Interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
Knowledge And Skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal interactions with management, servers, team members, and guests).
- Basic reading skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to visually scan the restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables.
- Able to work well with others and independently.
- Able to organize and multitask.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
This is an hourly paid position. Days and hours of work vary according to business hours and job requirements. The business operates seven (7) days a week; and hours start as early as 9 AM and can go as late as 10 PM depending on the work required.
