About the role

As a Host at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, you are the first and last impression of our restaurant—welcoming every guest with warmth, setting the tone for their visit, and ensuring they leave feeling valued and cared for.

Our team members receive extensive training and development, are continuously set up for success, and become part of the Firebirds family. If you’ve never worked in a restaurant before but have a passion for learning, we’ll train you to become a hospitality expert.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly as they arrive and thank them as they leave.
• Open doors and create a friendly, inviting first impression.
• Escort guests to their table and set expectations for their experience.
• Manage reservations and waitlists using OpenTable with accuracy and care.
• Communicate wait times clearly and professionally during peak volume.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entryway.
• Support the dining room by clearing and resetting tables (bussing) as needed to maintain flow and cleanliness.
• Partner with the Front of House team to ensure smooth, seamless service.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours or more a day.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and lift items frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Patience and a guest-oriented mindset.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
• Attention to cleanliness and safety procedures.
• Reliable transportation.
• 18+ age requirement for Front of House positions.
