Host an International High School Exchange Student (Tate County, MS)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming home environment for an international student.
• Attend orientation sessions with the exchange student before they arrive.
• Help the exchange student adjust to life in the new country and culture.
• Ensure the exchange student attends their local high school classes.
• Support the exchange student in developing friendships and participating in community activities.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a stable home environment.
• Be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Have a valid driver’s license if driving the exchange student to school.
• Be willing to provide a safe and supportive living environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness to embrace and support cultural differences.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
• Good health and physical condition.
• Availability to host the exchange student for a full school year or semester.
