Host an International High School Exchange Student (Meridian, MS)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Attend your local high school with the exchange student
• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
• Help the exchange student adjust to life in your community
• Encourage the exchange student to participate in local activities and events
• Ensure the exchange student has access to healthcare and emergency services

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Willing to commit to hosting the exchange student for a minimum of one semester
• Have a stable home and address
• Be able to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
• Have a basic understanding of the language spoken by the exchange student (English)

• Willingness to learn about and respect different cultures
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Interest in fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendships
