Host an International High School Exchange Student (Laplace, LA)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
• Attend the student's local high school classes
• Help the student adjust to life in a new country and culture
• Ensure the student has access to healthcare and emergency services
• Support the student's academic and social development

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old
• Have a stable home environment
• Be able to communicate effectively in English
• Have a valid driver's license if driving the student to school
• Be willing to provide meals and accommodations for the student

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn about and respect different cultures
• Ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally
• Good organizational skills
• Flexible schedule to accommodate the student's needs
