Host an International High School Exchange Student (La Vista, NE)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. SHARE! students, aged 15-18 from various countries including France, Germany, Spain, China, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea, are seeking a family to host them for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
• Attend the local high school with the exchange student
• Ensure the exchange student has access to medical care if needed
• Help the exchange student adjust to life in the new country
• Share your culture and traditions with the exchange student

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have a stable home and address
• Must have a reliable car (if driving to school)

• Ability to provide a positive influence on the exchange student
• Open-mindedness to learning about different cultures
• Flexibility to adapt to a new living situation
