Host an International High School Exchange Student (Decatur, AL)
ERDT/SHARE! is a global non-profit educational foundation established in 1974. We provide international student exchange services to host families and international teens. SHARE! students, aged 15-18 from countries such as France, Germany, Spain, China, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea, are eager to find a family to host them for a school year or semester.
Responsibilities
- Attend your local high school with the SHARE! student
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the SHARE! student
- Help the SHARE! student adjust to life in your home country
- Support the SHARE! student with meals and activities
Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have health insurance covering international travel
- Must have a stable living situation
Qualifications
- Willingness to share your home and culture with a young international student
- Ability to provide a safe and supportive environment
- Interest in learning about different cultures and ways of life

Pay
No monetary compensation is provided for hosting a SHARE! student.
Schedule
The SHARE! student will attend your local high school during the day, leaving your home at the end of the school day. You will be responsible for providing transportation to and from school.
