Host an International High School Exchange Student (Birmingham, AL)

About the role

SHARE! High School Exchange Program is seeking caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year.

Responsibilities

• Experience the world without leaving home by opening your home to a high school exchange student.
• Host a student who is 14–18 years old and comes from countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and many others.
• Engage in cultural exchange by sharing your own culture and traditions with the student.
• Provide a safe, welcoming environment for the student to attend their local high school and become a true member of your family.
• Ensure the student's comprehensive medical insurance coverage.
• Offer spending money for personal expenses.
• Screen and select the student before they arrive in the United States.

Requirements

• Be willing to welcome a student into your family.
• Have a caring heart.
• Have a stable home.
• Be open to hosting a student regardless of marital status (two-parent families, single parents, single adults, retired couples, empty nesters).
