Host an International High School Exchange Student (Alexandria, LA)

About the role

SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. Host families and adults are needed to host exchange students for a school year or semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for an international teen
• Attend the local high school with your exchange student
• Help your exchange student adjust to life in the United States
• Ensure your exchange student has access to medical care if needed
• Support your exchange student in their academic and social development

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old
• Have a stable home environment
• Be able to communicate effectively in English
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Be willing to commit to hosting for a full school year or semester

Qualifications

• Willingness to embrace cultural differences
• Ability to be flexible and open-minded
• Good health and reliable transportation
