Hospitality Intern

About the role

We are recruiting for the Fall semester (August - December) a Hospitality Internship at our luxury hospitality resort located at 1525 Hwy 107 South Cashiers, NC 28717. This internship is designed for students enrolled in a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree or similar programs seeking first-hand experience working at a luxury hospitality resort.

Responsibilities

• Guest Services Rotation: Assist guests with luggage, property orientations, valet, and other requests as needed. Gain understanding of Lodging front-of-house operations including assisting with smooth arrivals and departures, providing introductions to the property, and offering legendary hospitality.
• Food and Beverage Rotation: Focus on food running in the Dining Room. Learn about the caliber and intricacies of the food and beverage world, participate in beverage classes, and shadow a dining manager.
• Housekeeping Rotation: Assist housemen and housekeepers in their daily duties. Gain understanding of back-of-house operations, including maintaining cleanliness of common areas and guest rooms, and operating the laundry for the entire resort. Shadow a Housekeeping supervisor or manager to understand coordination and inspections.

Qualifications

• Enrolled and actively working towards a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree or similar program.
• Commitment to work from May through August, working no less than 35 to 40 hours per week.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Regular and consistent attendance required.
• Ability to work well with other team members and managers, and interact with guests.
