About the Role
The Hospitality & Hotel Management Intern will support MADE’s hotel and event-accommodation business using EventConnect. The intern will help manage customer service, hotel reservations, booking incentives, and accounts receivable related to hotel rebates and commissions. This position does not include hotel contracting.
Responsibilities
- Use EventConnect to manage events, hotel room blocks, reservations, and customer information.
- Provide customer service to event organizers, teams, guests, and hotel partners.
- Respond to questions about reservations, hotel options, booking procedures, and event accommodations.
- Assist with resolving reservation issues, cancellations, booking changes, and customer concerns.
- Monitor room-block reservations, booking activity, availability, and cutoff dates.
- Create and recommend incentives that encourage guests and teams to book through MADE’s approved hotel process.
- Help communicate booking incentives, promotions, and important deadlines to customers.
- Track the performance of incentives and recommend improvements based on booking results.
- Maintain accounts receivable records for hotel rebates and commissions.
- Prepare and send invoices or supporting documentation for rebates and commissions.
- Track amounts billed, payments received, outstanding balances, and payment deadlines.
- Follow up with hotel partners regarding unpaid or overdue rebates and commissions.
- Review hotel reports and booking information to confirm that commission and rebate amounts are accurate.
- Work with the accounting and operations teams to resolve payment discrepancies.
- Prepare reservation, customer-service, incentive, rebate, commission, and accounts-receivable reports.
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic records in EventConnect and other internal systems.
- Support improvements to MADE’s customer-service, hotel-management, and payment-tracking processes.
- Assist with other hotel operations and business-management projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate interested in hospitality, hotel management, accounting, finance, event management, or business.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with numbers, invoices, payment records, and financial reports.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Comfortable learning EventConnect and other online business-management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, customer requests, and deadlines.
- Professional, dependable, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation
