Position Overview
The Hospitality Director works in conjunction with the VP of Operations and/or Area General Manager and is directly responsible for the overall smooth operation of the club. This position reports to the National Lifestyle Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support the achievement of company goals.
- Create an overall lifestyle program for Club members that includes activities, events, enrichment opportunities, creative expressions opportunities, culinary arts, and travel.
- Ensure that a consistent set of superior standards of customer service meet or exceed the expectations of Members and guests at all Club facilities and events.
- Provide strategic intelligence to partners and clients regarding all Club initiatives, including but not limited to, vision, branding, Lifestyle, Food & Beverage, and Operations.
- Aid the VP or Area GM in establishing goals and processes for measuring sales, revenue, new projects, and business development for the Club.
- Support the hiring process.
- Supervise team members and maintain effective communication related to Club operations, safety, and team member concerns.
- Aid in budget planning and monitoring support to assure revenues and expenses are achieving and exceeding the department’s financial sales goals.
- Set up new vendors, process invoices, and bi-weekly payroll processing and reporting.
- Manage the Member communication platform, which includes but is not limited to content creation and registration for events, fitness classes, news, and more.
- Instrumental in the onboarding of new Members throughout the life of the community, including resales.
- Work closely with the marketing and creative team in Central Services to provide on branded materials and menus.
- Implement, train, and operate Point of Sales (POS) system.
- Maintain the Club’s performance to determine whether strategies and plans require adjustment to positively impact revenues and cost controls.
- Review and approve short- and long-term strategies and implementation for the Food & Beverage operation.
- Serve as Manager on Duty.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills
- Graduation from a 4-year accredited college or university or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- Involved in key development initiatives directly relating to the clubhouse and restaurant plants.
- Previous General Manager experience or 5+ years of senior club leadership experience.
- One to three years’ event planning, budgeting, and supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous knowledge or experience working in a homeowner association preferred.
- Experience in the hospitality industry specifically Food & Beverage is required.
- Community engagement experience desired.
- Partnership cultivation and management desired.
- Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) certification (or similar) preferred.
- Computer literate with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC technology.
- Club Management System software a plus.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of members, customers, or team members.
- Basic computational ability as well as budgetary analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association.
- Planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.
- Initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to see and hear, speak clearly and understand the speech of another person, stand or be able to move around the office space, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
This position generally operates in a professional indoor office environment, but also includes walking around the facility with exposure to outdoor conditions. There is routine use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
