Essential Functions
- Performs evaluation and problem identification of patients.
- Performs history and physical examination of patients.
- Writes prescriptions, orders and interprets laboratory data and radiological tests.
- Maintains patient status and response to treatments.
- Documents findings in the medical record.
- Recommends appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Provides education and counseling for patients.
- Communicates with patients' family members as needed.
- Communicates regularly with the physician(s) and other members of the health care team to discuss status updates for patients.
Required Skills
- Required Licenses: Valid KY Nursing License. Approved National Certification recognized by the KY Board
- Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and high work level capacity.
- Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.
- Proven interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and other health care team members.
- Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Self-directed, with sound decision making, written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and abide by all HIPPA regulations.
- Participates in ongoing patient experience improvement activities.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization.
- Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.
Required Experience
- Minimum Work Experience: At least 1 year NP experience preferred
