Hospitalist, Emergency Department
Montefiore-Einstein is seeking qualified and dedicated physicians to work as Hospitalists in the Emergency Department and the adjacent 12-bed inpatient unit known as the AU.
About the role
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, providing care for patients, particularly “Boarders” awaiting bed assignments in the Inpatient Units. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients in the Emergency Department and the AU, working closely with Emergency Medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Shifts are regularly scheduled at both Weiler and Moses (and potentially other sites depending on department needs and program expansion). Hours are a mix of day and night shifts, 12 hours each, with a total of 1,656 clinical hours per year.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate care for patients in the Emergency Department and the AU.
- Collaborate with Emergency Medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational programs related to Emergency Medicine practices.
- Engage with nurses, specialists, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction surveys through regular team meetings.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Ability to obtain a New York State Medical License.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make timely decisions.
