About the Role

Multi-specialty, independent medical group seeks BC/BE Internists & Family Practitioners to join their team in Coastal Virginia. Three opportunities available in metropolitan, suburban, and rural communities.

Schedule & Shifts

• Flexible schedule provided – option for 7 on/7 off if desired
• Full-time is 16-18 shifts per month
• Physicians start their day with a rounding list and are asked to be in the hospital by 8:30am. Once rounds are complete, they are free to leave.
• Different locations have different times that you cover the pager. Typically, pages roll to admit at 1700.
• About 4 admit shifts a month. Admits are from 7-7.
• If you do not have primary code coverage, you do not have to stay in-house.

Hospital Settings

• Average of 16-18 patients per shift
• Hospital 1: Open ICU, Secondary code coverage
• Hospital 2: Closed ICU, Secondary code coverage
• Hospital 3: Open ICU, Primary code coverage
• All hospitals have full-time nocturnists
• EMR – EPIC

Compensation

• Average hospitalist earns 300-350k – compensation tied to schedule and productivity
• Nocturnists earn on average 400-425k
