Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care, including physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on thorough assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Maintain detailed records of patient observations, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and medications.
- Perform a variety of surgical and dental procedures, including spays, neuters, mass removals, and extractions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity of care.
- Lead and mentor a team of veterinary technicians and support staff.
- Participate in hospital rounds and disseminate knowledge to enhance the quality of care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited school.
- Active veterinary license in the state where the hospital is located.
- DEA and Controlled Substance licenses, if applicable.
- USDA Category I accreditation or equivalent within two months of hire.
- Comfortable performing anesthesia and various surgical and dental procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Petco offers competitive compensation, including a salary range of $87,700.00 - $186,100.00 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings options, and paid time off.
