Hospital Transport Aide

Position Summary

Transporters will work with hospital staff in ancillary departments, patient care units and the rehabilitation department to provide safe, courteous, and efficient transport services to all patients within Methodist Hospital inpatient areas. Transporters will perform or assist with the transfers of patient to appropriate mode of transport vehicle. Transporters will use communication and technology to assist in the efficiency of the transport service.

Duties

• Work independently
• Problem-solve using good communication and people skills
• Strong verbal communication, customer relations, and listening skills are essential
• Promote and maintain good customer relations and patient confidentiality
• Train in and demonstrate proficiency in clinical procedures, infection control practices, body mechanics and transfer training
• Communicate effectively with a wide variety of patients including those with speech and hearing impairments

Required Qualifications
