Summary This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders. Schedule Monday 0830-1700 Tuesday 0830-1700 Wednesday 1030-1900 Thursday 1030-1900 Friday 0730-1600 On call one night a week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks Job Responsibilities Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasksHospital OrdersConsigningShippingPackingReconciliationIrradiation/modification Performing timely driving functionsDelivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders.Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites.Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab. Customer ServiceResponsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers. Daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services allows for correct orders and component shipments Equipment MaintenanceMaintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services. Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports. Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood component.
