About the role

Direct responsibility for daily operations, including evaluating, planning, directing, and coordinating activities for assigned unit/department(s). May undertake various special projects. Performs and/or delegates duties of staff members in the absence of the direct leader. Performs duties in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Located onsite at Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations for assigned unit/department(s).
  • Undertake various special projects as needed.
  • Perform and/or delegate duties of staff members in the absence of the direct leader.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare, business, or related field. For individuals with a bachelor’s degree or higher, a minimum of 1 year of applicable experience will be considered.
  • Experience must be consistent with job duties, including project management, leadership, or other professional experience relevant to the role.

  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to perform financial analysis and identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and efficiencies.
  • Written Communication: Composing correspondence with appropriate grammar, both written and electronically.
  • Software and Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using high-level word processors, databases, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint software. Proficient in using computers, copiers, telephones, faxes, and calculators.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with multiple project teams.
  • Adaptability: Able to operate effectively in a high-energy, ever-changing work environment with a professional demeanor.
  • Collaboration and Creativity: Capable of working well in a team and independently.
  • Organization and Accuracy: Highly organized and accurate in managing tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
