Hospital Medicine – Nocturnist NP/PA
About the Role
This hospitalist position is at a 385-bed Level III Trauma Center with a closed ICU. No procedures are required. The EMR system in use is Epic.
Admissions are handled in a round-robin manner among the daytime hospitalists and swing shift NP, with no dedicated admitter. Specialty coverage is limited: dermatology, rheumatology, and endocrinology are not available, and there is partial coverage for ophthalmology. The ICU team runs codes, and hospitalists cover rapid responses alongside the rapid response team and critical care nursing. The NP works with the hospitalist and nocturnist to assist with admissions.
Day and night hospitalist positions are available, with the following coverage model:
- Day: 6 Physicians (7a-7p) + 1 NPPA (7a-7p)
- Night: 1 Physician (7p-7a) + 1 NPPA (7p-7a)
4 hours of stroke CME are required.
