Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build admission volume for network of freestanding ERs through a dedicated outreach effort to build awareness, identify admission opportunities, and enhance the admission and care coordination process.
  • Use analytics and market data to identify admission opportunities from partner hospitals and quantify value.
  • Develop provider and provider office relationships to grow standard-alone hospital ER and IP admission sources.
  • Identify and build key relationships with facilities requiring hospital admission options like Skilled Nursing Facilities, Retirement Homes, and Rehab Hospitals.
  • Educate providers on the optimal patients and acuity for the freestanding ER and hospital platform.
  • Collect feedback on ways to enhance the clinical platform and offerings.
  • Develop bi-directional communication between providers and hospital stakeholders to ensure quality service and communication.
  • Assist in the creation of educational materials to promote services and identify the appropriate admission clinical indications.
  • Report feedback to leaders on a daily and weekly basis, through appropriate call logs (CRM) and meetings.

Market Intelligence

  • Deliver real time market information to client stakeholders.
  • Survey providers, provider office staff, and referring community to identify specific needs, perceptions, and competitive alternatives.
  • Ghost shop and collect competitor information; benchmark service levels.
  • Use available analytics to follow up on referral opportunity insights, including leakage from medical group.

Territory Management

  • Identify and build quality relationships with referring physicians, schedulers, and office staff in the primary, secondary, and tertiary service areas and surrounding communities.
  • Design and follow a disciplined call route.
  • Make routine cold calls on new physician offices and other targeted facilities determined as source of referrals.
  • Serve as a liaison between the hospital and physician offices to uncover customer needs, concerns, and appreciation.
  • Work with hospital staff to coordinate field activity, market feedback, and follow up tasks.
  • Manage territory strategically to increase the number of ER/IP service referrals to the designated facility.
  • Prioritize call activity and emphasize on physicians or physician groups with significant referral potential.
  • Routinely monitor and gain information on competition in the Freestanding ER marketplace.
  • Benchmark Client offerings and services against competition.

Business Development

  • Brainstorm strategic initiatives with senior administration and ElevatePFS® RM&A leadership to grow existing service lines and expand into new clinical services.
  • Project manage resources within Client and ElevatePFS® Referral Management Services to implement key strategic projects.
  • Monitor the performance indicators of primary clinical service lines to proactively respond to changes in referral volume and capacity.

Problem-Solving

  • Solicit feedback from referring physicians to understand strengths and weaknesses of services from customers’ standpoint.
  • Identify areas for improvement and execute plans to resolve problems.
  • Work across departments and with various department personnel to complete tasks and resolve issues.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Public Health, Health Policy, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred).
  • Master’s degree highly desirable.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience, including at least two (2) years in healthcare.
  • Physician relations or direct physician‑partnering experience preferred.
  • Clinical experience with active licensure (e.g., RN, MSN, EMT, LPN) highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare service lines and industry operations.
  • Solid financial acumen with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze reports, market data, and performance trends and summarize insights for executive leaders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior and C‑suite leaders.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with physicians and key referral sources.
  • Ability to facilitate communication and problem resolution across physicians and health system departments.
  • Exposure to clinical settings with understanding of patient flow and basic clinical terminology.
  • Highly professional, confident, and persuasive with strong customer service orientation.
  • Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Results‑driven, goal‑oriented, and able to operate effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, location, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
