Hospital Lab Technician III- Corelab Irvine- FT Variable Shift

About the role

The HLT III performs a full range of duties from specimen procurement/phlebotomy, specimen and/or blood component processing and handling. This includes performing a wide variety of repetitive technical procedures and standardized tests according to established protocols. Perform all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. Assist in preparing/ maintaining compliance as established by regulating agencies such as CAP, TJC, OSHA and other federal and state agencies. Additional duties include inventory and ordering of supplies, clerical, telephone, and communication with laboratory customers. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen procurement/phlebotomy, specimen and/or blood component processing and handling
• Perform a wide variety of repetitive technical procedures and standardized tests according to established protocols
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as CAP, TJC, OSHA and other federal and state agencies
• Prepare/ maintain compliance as established by regulatory agencies
• Assist in inventory and ordering of supplies
• Perform clerical, telephone, and communication duties with laboratory customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)
• At least 2 years of Phlebotomy experience
• Willingness to provide weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis and variable shift assignment(s) as needed

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must be willing to provide weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis and variable shift assignment(s) as needed
• At least 2 years of Phlebotomy experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Good computer skills including knowledge of various software applications
