About the role
The Hospital & Lab Services Manager oversees hospital-based laboratory services and manages contracts with hospitals such as Raritan Bay, Old Bridge, and Carrier Clinic. The role is based in Perth Amboy, NJ, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integration plans for hospital laboratory management services.
- Participate in the identification, design, and development of hospital laboratory management services.
- Manage and execute implementation plans for both internal and external customer (hospital client) contracting requirements.
- Interface with internal and external resources to ensure successful and timely completion of the lab management arrangement and contract success.
- Evaluate project effectiveness and outcomes, create documentation of newly created processes, and manage overall engagement.
- Directly responsible for Quest Diagnostics managers and staff at client locations, maintaining relationships and communications with hospital clients, sales, PLS Team, Regional operations, and functional partners.
- Ensure contracted service delivery meets high quality standards and contract terms.
- Coordinate with hospital clients to meet service level expectations and foster deeper lab management services.
- Lead or participate in internal meetings, client meetings, and cross-functional meetings.
- Develop and manage project plans, meeting documentation, and regional action items.
- Successfully transition lab management employees post-implementation to the Regional Hospital Service Manager and other functional leaders.
- Utilize effective management and influencing skills both internally and externally to ensure successful implementation of all services within scope.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of managerial experience in the laboratory industry, preferably with a generalist background.
- Prior managerial hospital experience, lean design/work-flow experience, and lab consolidation experience preferred.
- Project Management experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or a related science.
- Master’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
- Formal Project Management training is preferred.
