About the role

The Hospital Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Hospital Laboratory Management and ensuring compliance with contract obligations. This role involves developing and implementing management services, managing hospital-client relationships, and maintaining high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement hospital laboratory management services based on client needs.
  • Manage and execute implementation plans for both internal and external contracting requirements.
  • Train hospital management and staff on new services and evaluate project effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with national PLS manager and leadership to manage and execute implementation plans, including directing staff resources.
  • Ensure contracted services are delivered according to contract terms and address any issues promptly.
  • Manage labor productivity and cost per test.
  • Manage inventory levels and collaborate with supply chain/procurement to maintain efficiency.
  • Utilize management and influencing skills to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently and work in a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of managerial experience in the laboratory industry.
  • Prior managerial hospital experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead or manage through supervisory or area lead responsibilities.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of department metrics and management of laboratory budgets.
  • Experience with key PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced understanding of data analytics.

  • Lean Six Sigma Principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
